The van is like on E and I have no money with me to buy gas.
I guess I'm using fumes to get home from school.
Here's the no-so-funny part. I had a quarter tank of gas when I left the house this morning. Fuel economy, what's that?

There's nothing else to be done.
Guess you'll have to ghost ride it into the river. RIP Your Van.

Someone siphoned gas from you, buddy.

What do you average gas mileage wise?

My DD is awaiting rear brakes so I'm stuck doing 90 miles a day at 22mpg. Is teh suck.

unless it is like my old Mitsubishi where the light didn't come on till the needle was below the E

Does it have a gas light? If the light's on then you usually have about 3 gallons of reserve. If not, then get to a gas-station, quick!

Nope. I just drive 50+ miles and get about 11 MPG highway.

11 MPG highway. Less lately it seems. And I drive like 50 miles in a day.

My 11 MPG laughs at your 22.

I don't even have a light! It's out a little under E I think. Unless that's my dad's Silverado I'm thinking of.

No light. But I also don't have a seatbelt sensor, so that's not a shock.

Thats horrible, The AMC would get like 13 or 14 city, Thats livable (barely) But 11 Highway!?! Thats horrible

160 horsepower mixed with aerodynamics of a brick mixed with a 4-speed auto causing the engine to turn at like 2500 RPM mixed with a 4.3L displacement.. You get the picture.

Don't make me drive my gas-user-upper-mobile. 10mpg.

Oy, you need a new car
![]() 11/07/2014 at 14:57 |

At least you're driving something cool while getting shitty gas mileage.

Don't gotta tell me that!

Do you have a PayPal or something? Maybe we could pass around the Oppo Collection Plate!

Now, if that engine was in a muscle car and actually put out power I'd say something different, but that gas mileage in a van that really has no useable power is pointless

The only reason I can sanely drive a 6000lb van with 160 horsepower is because the engine is really torquey in all the right places.
I always thought I had the upgraded engine with 200 horsepower and more torque, but I learned recently I don't.

Wait a minute, 4.3l V6 and only 160hp? My mom's God awful CRV's 4cyl makes 185hp, thats pitiful

Welcome to an engine that saw development in the 80s.
They sold a 4-cylinder version with 90 horsepower. I think it was only in SWB work vans though.

How does that make any sense?

2500 at what speed?

Shake it and listen to it splash in the tank. If you don't hear anything, you're screwed.
